Deviation Actions
Description
The Magnum Research BFR is a single-action revolver manufactured by Magnum Research that borrows many design cues from Colt’s Single Action Army revolver and its subsequent copies and near-copies. It is made from stainless steel and comes in two basic models depending on the size of the heavy caliber it uses, such as .500 S&W Magnum ("short" cylinder) or some of the more traditional rifle cartridges, such as the .30-30 and .45-70/.450 Marlin (long cylinder). The name "BFR" is officially an acronym for "Big Frame Revolver”, however, collectors and large-caliber enthusiasts have been known to interpret the initials as "Big Fucking Revolver", due to its overwhelming size and power.
This model in particular has some modest use of engravings, a very traditional color scheme that alternates between blued steel and stainless steel and it is chambered in .45-70 Government, being nicknamed “THE” BFR. The handle and trigger area are also larger compared to the original model, hinting that this revolver was specifically made to suit a very large/tall individual, however, even such person can't avoid the muzzle climb of its large caliber, for that reason the revolver also makes use of a muzzle breaker near its front sight and sports a longer octagonal barrel to make it more front heavy, countering that effect a little.
